New Version Release of Trading Software

 

In terms of provisions of the Rules, Bye-Laws and Regulations of the Exchange, members of the Exchange are notified as under:

 

New version of trading software MCX-SX Trader Workstation (TWS) 10.1, MCX-SX Member Administrator Terminal (MAT) 10.1 and CTCLMCX-SX 1.6 data entry file shall be effective from Monday, February 8, 2010.

 

Members are requested to take note of the following:

 

  •      The new version of trading software (MCX-SX TWS 10.1 / MCX-SX MAT 10.1) and CTCLMCX-SX 1.6 data entry file can be downloaded from FTP server (Extranet) after 6.30 pm on Friday, February 5, 2010.

 

  •      The new version of trading software should be installed only after end of market hours on Friday, February 5, 2010 after completion of all daily activities like taking the online back-up, trade report, etc for the day.

 

  •      The new version of CTCL should be downloaded and the same should be updated in the CTCL application folder only after end of market hours on Friday, February 5, 2010 after taking back up of existing local CTCL folder.

 

  •       This is a compulsory download release for Trading and CTCL software. Hence, members are, once again, requested to install the new version to ensure uninterrupted trading from Monday, February 8, 2010.

 

  •       Members are requested to check login in the new version of TWS and MAT on Saturday, February 6, 2010 during 11.00 am to 2.00 pm to ensure smooth migration.

 

  •      Procedures for downloading and installation of new trading software are specified in Annexure 1.

 

  •       The features of the new trading software are specified in Annexure 2.

               

  •       Members are advised to use their modified back-office software from Monday, February 8, 2010 duly tested for the changes in file format, as informed in circular MCX-SX/IT/184/2009 dated September 18, 2009

 

  •       CTCL users should use CTCL software as per API version 10.12 with effect from Monday, February 8, 2010.

Annexure-1

 

Procedure for downloading and installation of the new version of trading software MCX-SX TWS 10.1 and MCX-SX MAT 10.1:

 

a) For All Users (Lease Line and VSAT):

 

·        Users can download setup from following path from FTP (Extranet) Server:   ftp://192.168.13.84/Common/Setup/Version10

·         Files can be downloaded any time through Internet or VSAT / Leased Line from February 5, 2010 after trading hours.

·         Double click MCX-SX TWS10.msi. It will install the new MCX-SX TWS for Version 10.1

·         Double click MCX-SXMADMIN10.msi. It will install the new MCX-SX Member Administrator for Version 10.1

·         Market data updates for VSAT and Leased Line mode of connectivity.

 

For VSAT mode of connectivity

 

·         After installation start TWS / MAT and follow below mentioned steps:

·         Go to Toolsà System configuration

·         Select Mode of Connectivity as “Dedicated”

·         Select Market Data Updates as “Normal”

·         After selection click on Modify.

·         System will set the Mode of Connectivity and Market Data Updates settings automatically and TWS / MAT will be closed.

·         Start TWS / MAT and login to the live environment of MCX-SX.

 

b) Internet users:

 

·         Users can download setup from following path from FTP (Extranet) Server: ftp://ftp.mcx-sx.com/Common/Setup/Version10

·         Double click MCX-SX TWS10.msi. It will install the new MCX-SX TWS for Version 10.1

 

For Internet mode of connectivity, after installation start TWS and follow below mentioned steps:

·   Go to Toolsà System configuration

·   Select Mode of Connectivity as “Internet”

·   After selection click on Modify

·   System will set the Mode of Connectivity and Market Data Updates settings automatically and TWS will be closed.

·   Start TWS and login to the live environment of MCX-SX

 

c) CTCL users:

 

·         Members using CTCL software are requested to get the necessary updates from their CTCL Vendors.

 

d) Existing portfolio / work space will be deleted and will be required to create a new portfolio / work space.

 

Procedure for downloading and installation of the CTCLMCX-SX version 1.6:

 

For All Users (Lease Line & VSAT):

 

  • New excel sheet CTCLMCX-SX version 1.6 will have to be downloaded from following path: ftp://192.168.13.84/Common/Setup/UCCSetup/Version10

 


 

New Functionalities: -                                                                                               Annexure-2

 

  1. Combination order functionality :-

A new functionality has been provided in Orders à Place Spread IOC/ Combination Order (Alt + F1 /F2).

‘Combination Order’ refers to 2 Leg and 3 Leg orders. ‘Combination Order’ allows the user to enter 2 or 3 IOC orders simultaneously in two or three different contracts with the purpose that the entered multiple orders gets matched either fully or partly but in Order Quantity proportion in which these contracts are entered in Combination Order entry. The fully or partly unmatched Combination orders get cancelled immediately

 

Each combination order gets converted into 2 or 3 normal orders depending upon the legs entered. All the Leg1, Leg2 and Leg3 orders have different order numbers and a Common Distinct Reference Number for each leg to identify that these orders have been generated through a Combination Order.

 

Each leg contract must be a different contract and should not contain a spread futures contract.

 

“Leg1+Leg2+Leg3 Contract Value” gets considered in Daily Order Limits Computation and Daily Order Limits get validated accordingly.

 

Online backup window enables the user to generate Normal order backup and spread IOC/Combination order backup separately.

 

In Tools à Preferences à Order tab, a new ‘Default Combination’ dropdown box has been introduced with values as Spread IOC, 2L and 3L.

 

In Tools à Preferences à Alert tab, ‘Outside DPR order’, ‘Qty Alert (Market Lots)’, ‘Price Alert’ (% of LTP/CLP/BP) and ‘Value Alert’ gets checked against each leg of the combination order separately.

 

‘Fresh Order’ and ‘Market Order’ confirmation alert – single alert gets generated for combination orders.

 

 

  1. Disclosed quantity preferences :-

In TWS, Tools à Preferences à Order tab, a check box preference has been provided to facilitate user to enable or disable disclosed quantity field in Normal Order and Square-Off Order Entry.

 

  1. Trigger price same as Limit price in Stop loss order entry :-

In TWS, ToolsàPreferences àOrder Tab, a new Preference 'Trigger Price same as Limit Price' checkbox has been provided

If Preference is checked, then in Normal Order/Square-Off/Modify Order Entry screen when user inputs a value in ‘Price’ field while entering a Stop Loss Order and presses ‘Tab’ button and if Trigger price field if empty then ‘Trigger Price’ field would display the same value as entered in Price field.

 

  1. Spread IOC Price Alert :-

In TWS, Toolsà Preferencesà Alert, a new field ‘Spread IOC Price Alert (% of NM LTP/CLP/BP)’ has been provided to define Spread Price Alert % (in Field format as 99.99).

If the Spread Price Alert % is defined, system calculates the Spread IOC Order Price Range by multiplying the defined SPREAD IOC Price Alert % with Spread IOC order’s near month LTP/CLP/BP. If the Spread IOC order’s Price is beyond the derived range, then an alert gets generated.

 

  1. ‘Save as’ Option  in the Net Position window in TWS & MAT:-

‘Save as’ Option has been provided in the Net Position window on right click. On selecting the ‘Save as’ option, the system will save the net position in excel format as displayed on the screen using selected filter criteria.

  

  1. Change in Order Number Structure :-

The order number structure has been changed. It shall be a combination of System Numbers (2 digits), Date (5 digits in yynnn format where yy is the year,  nnn is the day of the year starting from 001 to 365/366 (in case of leap year)) and Incremental sequence number (8 digits).

 

  1. Following Changes have been done in CTCL Client detail entry file:-

The fields “Registration Number of Derivatives Certification Test” and “Certification valid up to” have been made mandatory. If these two additional mandatory fields are not entered by the user the system will reject the file with appropriate Error Codes.

 

  1. Preference for Maximum messages per page in Message Log

In TWS, Toolsà Preferencesà General, a new Preference ‘Max Messages in Message Log’ has been provided to set maximum messages per page in message log. The user can select 25, 50 or 100 messages to be displayed per page. By default the messages per page will be 25.

The latest records will be displayed on the first page of Message Log. Navigation fields like ‘Bottom (go to last page)’, ‘Backward (go to previous page)’, ‘Forward (go to next page)’ and Top (go to first page)’ has been introduced to move from one page to other within the Message Log.

When the user modifies the preference of the pages, this change will be reflected when the user logs in next time.
